College, rehearse in solemn silence its tragic history. From this window, in the long sum mer nights, you may hear the suppressed moan coming up through the gloom and the trees, or the wail of anguish, cutting the air with its sharp, bitter cry of distress. Here, also, break ing in upon the sleepy stillness of midnight, you listen with awe to the rumbling ambulance or the stealthy hearse, followed by the sharp clang of the hospital gate as it receives or dis charges its dead and living freight.
