Descrizione
It is hoped that the object of this book may not be misunderstood and that the spirit of reverence which pervades its pages may not be overlooked. I accept the Bible as a Divine Revelation, and take the Mosaic description of creation as a basis of my work. It is true that I continue where most theologians leave off. Instead of limiting God's power and goodness, I extend it. Yet I do not claim to have discovered anything new, but only to expand the thought of modern phenomena. What is now known in science is the product of all ages. We of to-day add our little mite to What is handed down to us. Rome borrowed from Greece, Greece from Egypt, and Egypt, like China, is lost in the mists of historic antiquity, and is supposed to have obtained the light of knowledge from some still earlier civilizations.
