The intricacy of human health and its relationship to the health of the planet demands that we adjust our perspective. This can be accomplished by learning about the circular nature of health-regulating processes and the interdependence of all living things. All living things—humans, animals, and plants alike—are immersed into the environment, which is ruled by the interplay of four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. We may try to address the challenges of the future by creating a positive spiral propelled by respect, commitment, equity and other values that have been abandoned and that we must recapture. How? By thinking outside the box and pursuing creative and interdisciplinary collaborations.
